Game: Whispering.
- Devide the class into 2 groups A and B.
- Wishper the words to the two students from each group. (summer, make, small, nose, nine, snow, running, sing, morning).

Pronunciation
Activity 1: Listen and Repeat
- Read the words and ask S.s to listen.
- Read the words and ask S.s to repeat.
- Call on some S.s to read the words.
- Make corrections where needed.

Activity 2: Reconizing the sound
- Write the phonetic sound on the board :

- Ask S.s to close their books.
- Read the words and ask S.s to the number 1,2 or 3 corresponding to the sound.
Activity 3: Practice the sentences.
- Ask S.s to work in pairs to practice reading the sentences.

Model sentences:

2. It was raining at 7 p.m yesterday.
3. The train had already left when I arrived at the station.
4. By the time I got to the cinema last Saturday, the film had been showed for 40 minutes.
Usage :
+ Simple Past is used to talk about actions and situations in the past. ( Note :We can use Present Simple indicating Past Simple when narrating a story to make it more dramatic and lively.)
+ Past Continuous is used to talk about somethingwhich was in progress at a past time. The action or situation had started but it had not finished at that time.
+ Past Perfect is used to talked about some things which had happened before the past time we are thinking about.
Activity 1: (Exercise 1 p. 30)
- Ask S.s to work in pairs and read the story.
- Have S.s to use the correct tense forms of the verbs in brackets in the story.
- Ask S.s to compare their answers.
-Give feedback.

Activity 2: Noughts and Crosses ( exercise 2,3 p.30)
- Devide the class into 2 groups A, one group is Noughts “O” and the other is Crosses “X”.
- Each goup will choose a number and give the correct tense of the verb in its sentence.
- The group which gets three-in-a row(across, down and diagonally)wins.
- Have S.s redo the exercises in the book.
- Ask S.sto prepare for the next lesson.
- Work in groups.
