Game: Collocation
- Break the class into 6 groups.
- Each group is given a set of word cards as follows:
dressing
self-confident
answer
a smiling
gesture
responsibility
- Prepare another set of cards and stick the cards one by one on the board.
- Get the groups to choose and stick the appropriate cards to the ones on the borad to make meaningful phrases.

Lead-in to the lesson: There are some of the factors that would help people succeed in a job interview. In today’s lesson, you’ll have got some useful pieces of advice for a job interview.
Pre-teaching vocabulary:
- vacancy (n) : a job that is availabele for sb to do
- resume (n): cirriculum vitae
- recommendation (n): an offical suggestion about the best thing to do
+ make recommendation to sb on sth
- jot down (v): write sth quickly
- qualification (n):
* Checking: ROR
True-false prediction
- divide the class into 6 groups, deliver handouts to the groups. Ask them to close the books.
- Tell ss in the groups to discuss and predict which of the sentences on the handouts are true.
The groups write their prediction on the board.
Activity 1: True-false statements
- Ask ss to open their book, read the passage and check whether the sentences are True or False according to the tape.
- The winner is the group who has the most correct answers.
- Congratulate the winner.
Activity 2: Where is it from?
- Put the Ss into pairs and tell them to read the passage again then close their books.
- Read the following words and ask Ss to write the words on a sheet of paper, then put the words into correct paragraph.
- Ask ss to exchange the iedas with their partners and give the main idea of each paragraph based on the words they have just written.
Dicussion:
- Have Ss work in groups and discuss about thing they should do to succeed in a job interview.
- Ask ss to learn all the new words by heart.
- Work in groups.
- Play the game.
Expected answer:
a nice gesture dressing neatly and formally
A smiling face clear and honest answer
Sense of responsibility feeling self-confident.
