1. Pre-reading: 12’
Give some pictures of sports ( football, water polo, high jump, badminton, cycling, table tenis) and their names
ask Ss to match the name with its picture.
pick the picture of water polo and ask Ss:
1. Where is it played?
2. How do people play it? ( optional answer)
Introduce the lesson
* Pre-teaching Vocabulary:
1. opponent(n) ( ( using a picture of boxing)
2. penalize (v) ( ( using the situation to explain)
3. eject (v) ( ( have Ss guess the meaning of the word through the context)
4. foul (n) ( ( using a picture )
5. tie (n) ( ( write a score on the board and ask Ss the result)
Have Ss pracise pronouncing the above word

Use task 1 (p.130) to check Ss`s understanding
